Well I be damn here we go again! “Wiggins arrested in Wake” headlines in the Daily Southerner.
I had intended on attending the meeting on Monday night however I had some issues with my water at my house and I just couldn’t make it. I have got to start attending because I was the only one who attended the meeting and asked them not to move their meetings to the daytime a couple of years ago. I am glad they have moved them back to nights and I hope to get to the next meeting.
At at time when there is so much corruption going on in politics why would one want to be in a leadership role knowing they got some manure with them? I have been hearing for years that my commissioner was an illegal gambler so I guess this confirms it. But I guess I must wait until he goes to court to see if he is an illegal gambler or not. Oh well, maybe, maybe not. Hell I can do like most folks, I can be the judge. LMBAO!!
Black folks know that we can not do certain things especially black males in leadership roles. To name a few they can not and must not get caught up in sex, drugs and money ie: illegal gambling and etc. Some folks feel we should not be in a leadership role anyway. And every time one of us do something like this, this just makes it somewhat tough for the next black male.
When we have black males in leadership roles whom does stupid mess, they can not be truly effective in their roles because someone always know they have some manure with them. This is one reason why I didn’t really give a damn whether Wiggins became the chair or not. Yes, I know the county deserved to have a black majority commissioner board and a black chair. Not to say that Wiggins has been somewhat effective, I believe he could have been a hell of a lot more effective just like some more black leaders in Edgecombe County.
I want to go on record asking my county chairman to resign effective immediately because I am totally embarrassed as a black male who continues to fight for justice and equality for all in Edgecombe County and then I pick up the newspaper to see a top leader of the county being arrested. What kind of message does this send to the black males in the county? Hell we have enough mess going on with our young folks committing crimes and now they can attempt to justify their mess with this situation.
