Board to hold special meeting Monday, Feb. 27 The Edgecombe County Board of Education will hold a special closed session meeting Feb. 27 in the Central Services Boardroom at 6:30 p.m. to discuss the superintendent search and personnel matters.

Mr. Dancy, I know you’re aware of a lot of goings-on in the Edgecombe County school system, so what do you know about the arrest of 9 players on the SWE basketball team? What a shame. I was glad to hear that they were suspended from school AND kicked off the team. Are there enough players remaining on the team to continue the season? I hope so for the sake of those who had the good sense not to be involved.
Response: I know what I read in the paper and from what I am hearing. Correct what a damn shame.
Some of the JV team players were moved up to Varsity. There were no JV games on Friday in Tarboro and last night in Snow Hill. SWE lost on Friday but won on last night.
There were 3 boys who were not involved.
I am mad as hell because I volunteer and video their games. I do 2 nights at the middle school and 2 nights at the middle school total 4 nights a week. One of the players dad just got a video from me a couple of weeks ago to send to a school and now he is not on the team.
This just don’t make sense and I have no sympathy for them because they knew better. C. Dancy II – DCN Publisher
