Rocky Mount NC – Coalition holds forum on taxes, state budget

A coalition of nonprofit organizations that made headlines this week after lobbying for state tax increases is hosting a community forum tonight in Rocky Mount.
More than 80 nonprofit groups forming Together NC held a news conference Tuesday outside the N.C. Legislative Building urging legislators not to simply cut their way through the recession to a balanced budget, but to instead address revenues. (Rocky Mount Telegram)

All of the nonprofit agencies mentioned in the article need cutting out completely. Many are nothing more than governmental parasites just bleeding the taxpayer of their hard earned dollar as well as giveaway programs so that thrid generation welfare recipients will not have to work.

I disagree with you about OIC because the services they provide are much needed. Take for instance the GED program is to help people who may be on welfare to get a diploma so they can possibly get a job.
The Medical Center is much needed also. It speaks for itself.
There are other programs/services that are provided by OIC and they are good for the community as well.
I am quite sure some of the other organizations are good as well but I am only going to speak to OIC at the moment since I am familiar with their services.
