The grassroots organization, CITIZENS FOR FAIR UTILITIES, will try to address ELECTRICITIES and the EASTERN POWER AGENCY COMMISSIONERS on Tuesday, March 25, 2009 at 10am at the OPERATIONS CENTER in WILSON, NC.
We, as a group, intend to hold Electricities accountable relevant to the high price of utilities in the 32 municipalities controlled by the Power Agency and managed by Electricities.
Members of the CITIZENS FOR FAIR UTILITIES will hold signs and voice their concerns at the utilities meeting.

I am sorry Mr. Dancy and Mr. Fisher. I went today and found out it is tomorrow. I saw Tuesday above and went today. I think you meant Wednesday. I will try to be there tomorrow.
A NC utilities Commission lawyer explained the following to me. The commission sets rates for Duke, Dominion and CP&L. They regulate them. ElectriCities is a trade association that provides services to the two power agencies. An eastern and western. Two separate groups.
The western agency has lower rates and owns only nuclear and no coal like the east. Each agency is separate with separate bylaws and incorporation. ElectriCities is NOTHING. It just binds the two together so we get screwed and so the west gets in our bisness. THE AGENCIES do a contract with ElectriCities. It can go away and we can save money.
We are lied to. There are budgets to cut. There are millions of dollars that can be cut. The spending of the Davis woman is true. All we need to do is ask for the budget and see how she spends. They hide money from their board. Their board needs to ask for it. They are RESPONSIBLE TO DO THAT. The board does not even know what she spends. The staff hides lines of money. Millions can be cut. This is all a scam. Our rates can be done by the utilities commission like everyone else so we are treated fairly.
City councils understand very little about setting electric rates (the commission has people who understand it and they look out for the PUBLIC not themselves) and the staff now is screwing us. We need the commission to do it and really review and cut spending to get rates as low as they can. Separate the agencies, get rid of electricities and ask the utilities commission to regulate and set rates. They are the state of NC.
ElectriCities has lawyers who make millions off us. They created this junk of a place so they would get rich. Again, a lawyer at the State Utilities Commission explained it. The Commission can ask legislature for help for us if they find all kinds of issues with our rates (and they will) and the management. If the commission seeks help for us, it will be reasonable and smart. We need to press for this regulation. The fact that ElectriCities is off lobbying for a blog bill with our money is simple. The reason they are lobbying that bill is they are scared of us. They fear Mr. Dancy and are trying to find a way to hold him responsible. We are finding out the truth. If you work at ElectriCities and make six figures and cannot make that anywhere else you will do whatever it takes to spend money and protect yourself. And you will hide the truth. These people make more than Utilities Commissioners make. ABSURD.
Step 1 – Separate two agencies like they should be. They have nothing in common. And as Mr. Bonton the Chairman says he could care less about a bunch of whiny people in the east. He told a legislator that who told a Utilities Commissioner.
Step 2 – Sever ElectriCities and eliminate it.
Step 3 – Get regulation by Utilities Commission so our council members are out of this business since they really do not have time to be experts.
Step 4 – Work our way out of debt and junk with the help of the experts at the Utilities Commission and their smart staff who understand this mess and want to help us. They are our state.
